terror threat in glasgow

Damn la... Scotland is supposed to be safe! No where seems to be safe after all. Even Glasgow is not safe, where can be considered safe??

2 f***king idiots have to go crashing their burning car into the airport for god-knows-what reason. And some others have to go bombing around in London yesterday. Damn fun isit?? Who are the victims? Innocent people like us la!

In the end, both the 'terrorists' were still alive. What nonsense and how unfair is this? Buat baik dibalas baik, buat buruk dibalas buruk lah. Haha... If I'm not mistaken such a phrase do exist.

We wanna go for holidays leh... Airport security now damn tight!

It happened hours ago and only now that Esther came back I knew about it. She was out and she heard it on the radio in the car. Suddenly, something struck me. I'm so 'out' from what's happening around here. Hello, I do not have any newspapers, I do not even on the TV in the living room, I do not surf the net for news SOOO how am I supposed to be updated on the latest news?

camera gone mad

In case my parents are wondering wat happened to my camera, let me show you what is it like now.

Trying to camwhore after a night out to the nearby Ingram Bar. And this is what I got. It's getting worse and worse and one day I shall not be surprised if I on the camera and see black on the whole screen. Got a drink called i-dunno-wat and thank god I didn't end up with rashy that night.

I loved shopping but I've come to dread shopping when I'm here. Bcuz I always end up not buying anything. People here are like besar-besar belaka and trying to get size 6 clothing is so difficult. Places like topshop and miss selfridge sell pieces of size 6 but hello I can always get them in Msia!

random pics

Nothing happening went on... No interesting days. Everyday is just as ordinary, 7 hours classes.
People seem to like the view from my room's window. This is how it looks like. High enough to feel the breeze and to see the very common ambulance passing by in the evenings. Kacau betul lah the siren. People want to sleep at night eso tak boleh. And I can hear people laughing and singing on the streets late at night. Orang mabuk kua.

If you notice, they aren't many high-rise buildings in the city unlike KL.

Seagull! That's the closest I could get. Afraid it will fly away. He's always alone. Er not that I know it's a 'he', it might be a 'she'. Where are you today?? Where's your home I wonder.

Today's dinner. Tired of cooking therefore only 1 dish for dinner today. Looks fine right??
Who says I won't be eating proper meals when I'm here?? Got protein and vitamins... Good enough la.

You can't see it here. But my beans are of different lengths and the carrots are not in proper shapes. Cauliflower and brocoli are of different sizes as well. Don't bother bcuz it's going into my stomach and will be digested anyhow. Stir-fry vege always taste better with some meat. Yes, I know I'm such a meat-lover.

i love you guyss

I wanted a new camera, and my parents agreed to get me one. My dad said "Let me know what model you want, and I'll get it for u" I was like gasping in surprise. In the 1st place, I wanted to use my own money to get it. I will still continue insisting of using my own money. It's ok, a good investment.

Yay a new camera coming soon. Have to wait a few months though, until my mum comes. Unless it's cheaper over here, then I will get it here! Can't wait!!! Can't wait to travel around Europe too. Europe, wait for me!! hehehe....

Items I can't live without (note the word items): handphone, camera and pc/laptop.

They're making me missing home more. :(

bored and tired

Currently trying to study. Actually I'm only trying to browse thru the book I borrowed from the library bcuz it's due on thurs.

With strawberries keeping my company throughout the night, I managed to eat and keep my eyes on my books and not the laptop... Well, til now. Haha. $1.46 for a box containing so many inside, I felt it was very worth it. From $3.79, discounted to $1.89 and finally discounted again until $1.49. Bcuz it expires the following day.

Everything has expiry dates here. Even fresh vegetables and fruits. Expiry dates mean nothing to us at all as long as the food still look fresh and alright.

It tastes much better than those sold in Msia. Extra-sweet Class I strawberries...!!

Everytime I wanna study, I think of you my keng keng... Such a pity we don't get to study together anymore. I miss those times when we stayed til late at night at the library to bury our heads into our books. Studying was boring, but you being there with me made everything purrrrrfectttt!!!

You're not here to crack stupid jokes,
you're not here to explain to me with sooo much patience when I don't understand anything, you're not here to bring/buy chocolates or food for me when I'm hungry,
you're not here to walk me home after class,
you're not here to make a fool out of me,
you're not here to make me annoyed bcuz u love disturbing me,
you're not here to crack my fingers,
you're not here to mess up my hair,
you're not here to hug me and hold my hands when I'm cold (which I always do thanks to the weather),
you're not here to cover me with my blanket when I go to bed,
And many many many more... I cant possibly write everything here right?

ciao peepss... full-time lab day tmr plus 1 hr tutorial. xoxo

Walking around Glasgow

Went out jalan-jalan yesterday to celebrate xin yin's bday... HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRL!! *hugss* You're now an adult. I'll make my way there very soon, can't wait though. Hehe.

It got a little warmer (not exactly warm but better than the previous 2 days). Must be bcuz it was the bday's girl's day.

Passing by George Square, we decided to stop by to look at what's going on with these balloons. I thought there would be something interesting for us to see.

Balloons of blue, pink and yellow. Blue represents baby boy, pink represents and purple represents fetus of unknown sex. Parents of lost babies/fetuses stuck a message on each balloon.

And then, they sent the balloons up into the sky...

Together with the wishes for their lost babies.

Taken at George Square. Cameraman is missing. Ron looks hidden.

Birds love shitting on the many statues' heads found in George Square. I wonder what an bird's eye view of each statue would look like.

Presenting you a building behind George Square. I don't know what building is it :( It looks nice, that's all I know.

We have many of these city sightseeing buses. "Hop on and hop off". We walked instead! And will continue walking. Good exercise for super duper lazy bums like us.

A place where we can find Chinese groceries. They have Maggi mee, lee kum kee sauce, MILO, soba/udon and whatever we can find in KL. It's quite over-budget though.

The building behind is the cinema. *cineworld* Won't be stepping into the building to watch much movies I guess. Poserss man... People walking on the streets were staring at us.

Run run run...!!! Hehe... Damn cute la this photo.

SUBWAY for lunch. Yummm...

A mime along Buchanan. I thought it was a statue until he started moving and hey I told myself, it's a human!

A cup of coffee each to keep us warm. Damn nice wei to hold the cup under super cold weather. I didn't drink it though, bcuz I would never drink coffee without sugar.

ICE-CREAM!!! I guess no matter how cold it is, I could always stop for an ice-cream treat. DELICIOUSSS... The most famous ice-cream here. I would wanna check their chocolates out the next time.

Again, Happy bday Xin Yin yaa?? Hope you had a great time.

ps: Pics are kinda small. Click on them to get a bigger view.

Loving it and hating it

Is it considered summer if it's 10 degrees celcius?? Yes, over here it is. I've never thought I would ever needed to go out with a WINTER JACKET during SUMMER! That's so wrong. I guess I have to buck up my cold-threshold. Some pictures at last! These are photos of the 1st few days when I arrived when it was sunny. Sadly, it did not last long.

My current home for the next one year...

The nearest walkway you see there would enter my block

Typically SCOTTISH... Kilt + bagpipe

Surrounded by grass. Those here are nicer than those at home.

Since our arrival for less than 1 and the half weeks, we (IMU students) set up the fire alarm twice. I guess we really broke a record that no other batch can. The 1st time was bcuz of my friend from another unit who cooked without closing the kitchen door, so smoke went into the corridor of our rooms. 2nd time was in the sterile lab. I swear it wasn't me ok?? I'm sure u guys would be thinking I set something up on fire in the lab. I was in the dispensing lab when suddenly the fire alarm rang. Thinking that they were testing the alarm AGAIN for 2 days in a row, we didn't bothered running out. Until a lady (i tink she's a lab assistant) screamed for us to run. OMGG... We werent' prepared bcuz nothing of this sort has happened before. A machine just set itself on fire. Firemen arrived in less than 5 minutes, they were fast. The 2nd fire even brought 3 firetrucks. But it was just a small fire lah... Nothing as big as what u're thinking abt now.

Over here, as long as a fire alarms goes off, you would definitely see firemen bcuz there's no way we could enter the building until they pronounce it safe. Things are kinda strict here. Having living in Msia for 20 yrs, I've never seen those in Msia being so efficient.

They are more efficient than Msia's firemen & yeah this is the more important part, they are cute!!! I even took pics of them but my hp's cam is not good enough and I don't have my digicam with me. I definitely wouldn't mind fire alarms going off more often hahaahha but I don't think it will bring a good name to us P105 of IMU.

Now comes the bad part... Having 7 hours of lectures/lab a day is no fun at all. Lectures progress so quickly. And most of the time, I'm sleeping in class. Haha I use jet-lag as an excuse. Telling myself maybe I need more time to adjust to the 7 hrs-behind-Msia time here. I don't seem sleepy when I don't need to be in lectures though.

Has been only 1 week, but I'm already getting sick of washing clothes, washing dishes, thinking of what to eat for lunch or dinner, whether to cook or not. Well, mainly I'm surviving with sandwiches. Even if I were to stir-fry vege/meat, I only know how to use oyster sauce. Other than that, I'm knowledge-less about cooking. Sigh...

I'm typing this longggg post bcuz I have nothing much to do. No mood to sleep or study. Some people went clubbing but I'm right here at home bcuz I'm a good girl. *praise myself* Hope my darling would praise me too.

West-end festival pics coming up soon!!

Shoutout

Hey people, I'm 7 hours behind Malaysian time. It's difficult to communicate bcuz the time difference is so huge and we may be online at different times. Emailing is an option right? Keep in touch ya??

I'm in UK at last

After a long and tiring flight/journey (KL- Singapore- London- Glasgow), I finally arrived! At every transit, we had to wait for hours and the only thing to do is to chat and walk around to waste time. It made up a total of more than 24 hours of travelling time. I felt so happy to finally reach and I don't think I would wanna sit airplanes anytime soon (London-bound flight took about 13 hours and it was so sempit in the plane).

And guess what happened at the airport??

We were waiting and waiting at the conveyor belt for our luggages and mine DID NOT arrive!!! Smack those ppl handling my luggage. Gosh luckily I wasn't the only one and people keep saying "It happens every year bcuz the plane to glasgow is small and it cannot fit all your luggage. So, they will put it on the next few flights." What the ****, mine only arrived on saturday when I landed on wednesday.

It is not an exciting and enjoyable beginning in Glasgow ok??? Having no clothes to wear.... Sudahla didn't get to change for more than a day while travelling. It's sooo NOT gonna be a memorable start for me.

I guess nothing can get the shopping spirit out of me. Day no. 4 and already gone shopping. *Guilty guilty* spend money on clothings. Nah, one nice part about going to western countries is getting to shop right??? Trying to comfort myself. hehe...

Room still looking like a mess. Spoilt girl here doesn't know how to arrange her things in a proper manner. Don't wanna be living in a pile of rubbish so I'm trying my best to make my room look like a bedroom. So plain... no decorations or anything of that sort. AND NOOOO I wouldn't be spending my POUNDS on things to decorate my room. Everything here is so expensive. Need to get the calculator off my head. Well, things here are actually cheap if you work here bcuz elot of things can be bought for few pounds or a little more. It's actually better than Malaysia bcuz you earn so little there and things are expensive.

No pics yet. Too lazy to upload them and camera ran out of battery. It just got dark awhile ago. And sun is gonna rise in a few hours time. Gotta run and go to bed. Classes at 9 in the morning tmr.
