Happy 21st Birthday Ying Qi!!!

Remember that we were in the same class in form 2? Wow, that's a long time ago. Blink blink, I counted... 7 years ago. The pretty prefect girl back then in lower secondary school. Then, u quit being a prefect but you never stopped being the hardworking and smart person I know til today. You cared for people whenever you can. You never fail to cheer us up when we're down.

University life brings friends far away from each other. Although we only meet once a year, we will always remain as good friends.

So, HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY to you!!! Hugss... Take care and I'll see you in December.

Sem 7 Fever

Final year in university... I usually start with wearing something new. I did, last Friday, a cardigan. I'm not superstitious ok? Well, I thought it would be a good start. Somewhat similar to wearing new clothes on the 1st day of CNY.

Bombarding us with hours of briefing about our final year. I don't even know what subjects am I taking this year, so you can imagine how blur was I during the briefing. Well, until now, I still don't know. Hold on... I will when the holiday mood is over and when I feel there is the urge to do someting about my studies.

There goes the briefing. And I'm allocated with the research project titled "Lyophilised insert formulations for nasal drug delivery". What I would have to do is formulate active therapeutic compounds of interest with varying chemical properties into lyophilised nasal inserts. Gosh, it involves a whole lot of research in LABS to be able to achieve that. I sort of copied and pasted one line from a whole paragraph of description to briefly show what would I be doing. I hope it will turn out well, and I hope my supervisor Fionna McInnes is nice.

1st day of class... I would always remember this day. Bcuz it's the 1st time I'm able to wake up and get ready in 15 minutes before I run out of the house. Supposed to leave at 8 with the rest but I woke up at 7.57. This girl can never leave house without bathing, so I did, plus... I shampooed my hair as well! N not to mention, I blew dry it as well. It has already became a habit to do so, and I cannot kick it off. I was practically running to the train station to catch the "underground"... Why?? Bcuz of a workshop at the University of Glasgow at the west end with some 4th year medical students. Kan cheong gila the night before bcuz medical students are supposed to have more knowledge compared to us pharmacy students.

I thought I wouldn't make it there in time. But, thank god I did, so yeah.. I guess my day wasn't that bad after all! hahaha. Warns myself "No more late night shows for me if I have to wake up early the next day anymore".

Not forgetting, the fire alarm rang again. AGAIN bcuz it just rang last Friday, thanks to Desmond. I know I sound sacarstic, no offence ya? *I know you will read this hehe* We're so happy today's wasn't bcuz of any of us IMU students. Must be some "gwai lou" guys on the lower floors. Yipeeee!!! If not, people would think this bunch of chinese students are a nuisance.

Happy Mooncake Festival to All

Hope all of you had a great time with your family and friends.

For us here, we had to entertain ourselves. Had a potluck dinner at Mei Fong's place. Yummy yummy food there. Fried rice, fried noodles, dumpling, sweet-and-sour turkey, 'yok choy' chicken soup, curry chicken and last but not least, the chocolate cake. Did I not mention any? I hope not.

Meal ended with chinese tea while sharing each other's eventful stories about holidays. Haha couldn't stuff anymore into our already bloated stomaches so we decided to leave the mooncakes for tommorow. Lets see if the moon is still perfectly round tomorrow for us to 'yan seong'. Hehe. And lets hope if we manage to play with candles and lanterns. *Wind... if you hear me, may you not blow as strongly tommorow and I will appreciate your effort in doing so. Million thanks*

=) I shall be a good girl and go to bed now. I seem to have morning calls everyday at 10am. Mau tidur and bangun lambat also tak boleh. Sigh.

Another 2 days before I officially step into my 4th and final year in university. Feels as if I haven't had enough of holidays. Passes by surprisingly quick this time. Time for making new resolutions again. But, sigh, I'm such a procrastinator. Girl, time to change!

Switzerland

Switzerland was my 2nd destination after London. This destination was the total opposite of what we've gone through in London. Switzerland was like heaven with all the luxury.

When we landed, there was already 2 men waiting for our arrival, one was the driver. And drivers wear coats! They pulled our luggages for us, thank god bcuz my hands were already aching from the 1st day.

We spent all our time at Gstaad, a village up on the mountains. We stayed at Gstaad Palace, the most renowned hotel there. It hosted many big named figures. Mind you, we did not need to pay for all these luxury. It's thanks to my mum's customer's company having their 30th anniversary celebration. So they invited 200 over guests from all over the world for a 3days-2nights holiday. I heard he payed about a million for this event. There's even a board outside the hotel saying "Hotel closed to public for private event from 7th to 9th Sept". Everything was payed for, from our meals to the spa and hair saloon, and they even provided shoes, jackets and golf clubs depending on whatever activity you chose.

The hotel front

There's a TV in the bathroom so that you can watch while soaking in the tub. Cool.

I love the mountains. It's so relaxing up there.

Snow on mountains.

Photographs of famous people who stayed here before.

Hehe. Luxurious car. I wonder whose does it belongs to. Anyone who owns a Bentley like the greyish-silver one behind can propose to me and I'll consider! Haha. Oh no, my bf will kill me for saying that. Which girl would mind having a rich guy?? The answer is none. Then I can become a siu-lai-lai, ohhh how I wish!! I need to wake up from my dream.

I mean owners of Bentley like this!

I love the scenery. Can I migrate there when I retire??

We took the ski-lift thingy (as in the photo above) up the mountain for picnic and down with this cute bus.

Swiss music

Before the gala dinner. Performances during dinner was good, but socialising session was pretty boring. I don't know how to socialise with people aged 40+ and who are millionaires ok? They talk about things which I've never heard of. Puts me to sleep only. So what I did to entertain myself was to look out for the cute guy I met earlier. He was there helping his dad, the photographer for the event. We started talking earlier that day when we sat together on the bus. At least we are of the same frequency, not like those rich uncles.

A surprise performance after the dinner by Boney M. My mum says my dad will be so jealous if he sees this pic bcuz I have a photo taken with Boney M. They're singers of our parents' generation. I actually didn't know who are they until my mum told me.

I wonder if I'll get to enjoy this kind of luxury ever again. Ever. It's like a once in a lifetime thing.

Oh yea, and if you do go to Switzerland, their butter, cheese, milk and chocolates are must-eat. I ate so much cheese and butter that I wonder if I put on any weight. I put butter in my mouth whenever I feel like it. Damn I must be crazy.

Sigh, not many photos taken bcuz mummy warned me not to embarrass myself by taking unnecessary photos. U know, like pics of food, etc.

London

Well, it's finally time for me to blog about my trip. 1st: London for 2 nights. It totally wasn't enough at all, but I guess I could get my butt there easily again. 1st day was horrible. I hadn't enough sleep the night before, waking up at 4am to catch the flight there. And to walk to Central Station to take a train to the airport was terrible. We even had to take a train from Stansted Airport and walk to the hotel.

So, it ended with me having a bad temper the whole day. If that's not enough, my mum was tired too. Travelling with each other while having a bad-tempered day spoilt the day. Luckily the following day was much better.
We took the hop-on, hop-off sightseeing thingy. Well, I had no make up on that day, so I qualified for the under-15 tickets, which was half the price of the normal adult ticket. I even bought the child's ticket to get to the Tower of London. Saved quite a sum from there. Haha.

London Bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down, London bridge is falling down, my fair lady. Is it supposed to sound like that? I don't remember!

2 weeks pass really fast huh

Well, I thought it would be long, but now I'm back in Glasgow again. Sorry for not updating for weeks. Although I did went online twice using the internet point in Italy, I was too lazy to blog. *Don't kill me!*

Updates about the holidays tomorrow. I flew 5 times in 2 weeks. I'm now airport-phobia. Sick of the waiting time. Not to the extent of airplane-phobia yet, but I will be if I fly again anytime soon.

The moment I landed... RAIN. I haven't seen droplets of water from the sky for ages. I've been under bright and hot sun for weeks and now, the gloomy and wet Glasgow weather again. Autumn's here. I see people on the streets with winter clothing. I desperately need some too.

I would love lazing around at home. No walking, no waking up early in the morning. That's all for today.

Merdeka Celebrations

We actually had one here, in Glasgow. It's cool. Thanks to those who organised it.

We sang Negaraku so semangatly. We sang Keranamu Malaysia by "lalalala" with the tune bcuz we couldn't remember the lyrics. Hui hoon sang a song. I didn't know she has a lovely voice!

Here comes the best part... FOOD. Glorious and sumptuous food. Quite a number of Malaysian/Chinese food. So much food til some of them have to 'ta pau' food home.

Li ping, yan nee, shirlyn and jing mein were so into the merdeka mood that they even bought paints to paint their arms with the Malaysian flag and each of them wore each of the 4 colours on the flag. Shame on me that I didn't even think of wearing blue, white, yellow or red. Instead, I wore a blouse in my favourite colour, pink.

Dr. Christine Dufes and me. She's my tutor. A sweet and cheerful young lady, always smiling and laughing. Love those chit chats at her office. Oh yea, and she's French with a really strong accent. No-problemo hahaha.

I know you people are laughing like mad with me and the huge metal bowl. But hey, Hui mei did that too. My fren, girl!!

I guess the 1st person you will notice in this picture is the red-haired guy. Very bright wei. I need shades for my eyes! :SS
